How Are Aluminium Extrusion Parts Made?

Aluminium extrusion is a versatile manufacturing process. Aluminium alloy is forced through a shaped die to form continuous profiles with defined cross-sections. Extruded profiles can be solid, hollow or semi-hollow, ranging from simple outlines to highly complex geometries.

STEP 1 – Die Creation

Our engineers and toolmakers design and fabricate custom metal dies according to target profiles.

STEP 2 – Billet Heating

Cylindrical aluminium billets are heated to a malleable temperature between 400°C and 500°C.

STEP 3 – Extrusion

A hydraulic extrusion press pushes the heated billet under high pressure through the precision die.

STEP 4 – Cooling and Cutting

The extruded profile is cooled by air or water, then cut to specified lengths.

STEP 5 – Finishing (Optional)

Secondary treatments including heat treatment, anodizing, powder coating, painting and CNC machining can be applied to enhance appearance, durability and functional performance.
