MJF 3D Printing Overview
Multi Jet Fusion (MJF), developed by HP, is an advanced powder-bed additive manufacturing
technology primarily processing nylon powder.
Printheads jet fusing and detailing agents onto each powder layer, followed by infrared
heating to selectively solidify materials. Repeating this cycle forms complete components.
MJF features high precision and uniform mechanical strength for complex structures. Finished
parts support post-processing such as cleaning, dyeing, vapor smoothing and coating.
Production Specifications
Advantages of Accuro Rapid MJF printing
Complex Geometries
MJF delivers highly detailed, dimensionally accurate parts, ideal for custom functional prototypes and end-use components with intricate shapes.
Excellent Surface Finish
Thin-layer printing enables superior surface quality among powder-bed 3D printing technologies.
Excellent Mechanical Properties
MJF printed parts feature outstanding isotropic mechanical performance with uniform strength across all axes.
High-Volume Rapid Production
Multiple components can be nested and manufactured simultaneously within a single build cycle.
Applications of MJF printing
Aerospace
High-toughness MJF parts for drone frames and aircraft structural components.
Medical
Customised dental parts and patient-specific prosthetics.
Automotive
Durable prototypes and production components including engine housings and door hinges.
Manufacturing
Robust custom jigs, fixtures, tooling and robotic end-of-arm tooling.
Robotics
Lightweight structural parts, joint assemblies and custom grippers. Suitable for automated equipment and humanoid robot motion components.
MJF 3D printing post-processing
Surface finishing treatments for 3D printed components boost the visual quality, tactile feel and functional properties of manufactured parts. Treatments ranging from surface smoothing to specialized coating elevate visual appeal, strengthen durability and optimize performance, readying components for end-use applications or exhibition.
Sanding (Standard)
Bead blasting removes residual powder and delivers uniform surface texture.
Vapor Smoothing
Reduces surface roughness, eliminating layer lines to form smooth, sealed surfaces, compatible with all MJF nylon materials.
Dyeing
Penetrates all surfaces including deep hidden recesses to achieve consistent, uniform color finish.
Custom Finishing
Covers priming, tapping, threaded inserts and other secondary operations to boost part functionality.
